Direct Stafford Loan is a one-time loan for Stafford students.
Students may apply online to the Direct Stafford Loan Office or by calling the office.
The application process will cost $20, which is waived for students who are enrolled full-time.
The Direct Stafford loan is available for any student who earns $25,000 or more.
There are three different types of Direct Stafford loans available: 1.
Full-time Students who earn at least $25.00/quarter 2.
Full time students who earn $25-35/quarter 3.
Part-time students who pay their own way.
Each of these loans has different interest rates, fees and payment options.
If you are a student who does not meet the requirements for the Direct Loan you may be able to apply for a federal Perkins loan through the Pell Grant program.
The Perkins Loan Program provides federal aid to low-income college students who attend college in the US.
Perkins loans are available for $25-$40/month and students must be attending school full- or part-time to receive the aid.
If your loan is subsidized by the US Department of Education, you may qualify for a Pell Grant through the US Dept. of Education.
In order to apply to the Perkins Loan program, you must be enrolled full time in an accredited college or university.
You may also be eligible for a Perkins loan from a financial aid provider such as the Community College Financial Aid Service.
Perkins Loans are available to students who have been enrolled in full- and part-year colleges or universities for at least three years.
You must be at least 21 years old to apply.
If approved for a loan, your Perkins Loan will be automatically converted into a Direct Stafford in the first two years.
Students must meet the following requirements for a Direct Loan: Earn a minimum of $25k/quarter to be eligible.
The loan will be $25/month for undergraduates and $35/month in graduate school.
Students who are currently enrolled in a full-year college or a graduate program are eligible.
Students need to meet the eligibility requirements to qualify for the loan.
